Dean Kanganis, Owner and Operator of Diamond Glove Academy

Dean Kanganis, Owner and Operator of Diamond Glove Academy, an infield training company sponsored and partnered with Valle Training Gloves, has trained over 30 collegiate infielders. Among these, professionals Brandon Barriera (1st round – Blue Jays) and Cory Acton (9th round – Braves) have matriculated through the academy.

Dean joined the Barry University baseball staff in the fall of 2022 as a volunteer assistant and was promoted to assistant coach/co-recruiting coordinator in the summer of 2023. He contributed to the Bucs signing the top-rated class in NCAA Division II according to Perfect Game in 2023 and 2024.

During the 2022-2023 season, Dean was part of the Bucs team that won the South Region 2 Tournament and advanced to the Super Regional for the first time in program history. While working with the infielders, he witnessed Barry’s improvement from 181st in the nation (.911) to 70th in the nation (.952) from 2022 to 2023. The team finished 12th in the country in double plays turned (47) and double plays per game (0.87).

Previously, Dean was an assistant coach at Cypress Bay High School, Westminster Academy, and Cannons Baseball Academy from 2015-2022. Before his coaching career, he played Division III Baseball at Penn State – Harrisburg.

The goal is to continue providing athletes the opportunity to train and improve their skills while also gaining access to collegiate exposure. The camps and clinics Dean organizes are a perfect way for athletes to showcase their skills in front of college coaches, receive feedback, and work on necessary improvements.
